Lewis and Clark Trail
The famous explorers traveled through the area in 1805 and 1806. Highway 12 runs along the Lochsa river and offers a self guided driving tour with various interpretation signs and picnic areas that will make you relive the Lewis and Clark Expedition.

Nez Perce Land
The Nez Perce Tribe has used the Lochsa river and the surrounding areas for hundreds of years for their ancestral practices of fishing and hunting. Highway 12 offers various interpretation signs about Nez Perce history.
